I am constantly getting pc crashes (the whole operating system) resulting in either complete restarts or blue stop screen errors.. Often the stop errors are saying this IRQL LESS EQUAL THAN or PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA.

It then says to try going into safe mode to disable BIOS options such as cache shadowing etc. Firstly, what do you have to do to do this?

secondly, you know when you first startup and can press EDL to take you to a blue screen where you can alter PC components such as peripherals or BIOS, I set a password for entry to change these things and then typical me, forgot the password. How do you find this password out again please? Where do you need to go?

Back to the pc crashes, when restarting my system i go to event viewer and check the error logs and the errors listed include:

TCP/IP - TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent connect attempts

please continue by looking under additional information. Thanks guys

Before doing anything like re-installing your operating system:

IRQ Conflicts can be caused by any installed software and can cause BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) errors.

Firstly, I would Download CCleaner (See below) and run it, it will remove any old/unwanted files & Cookies.

Secondly, usually getting the TCP/IP connections error come up when using peer-to-peer software. try to go a few days without using either limewire/bittorrent type software and see if that helps.

Thirdly, you can not "get back" your BIOS password. The only way you can get back in is to removed the BIOS battery from your mptherboard for aprox 15 seconds and this will reset the BIOS including the password. Some motherboards have a jumper for just this purpose - look at your mobo manual if bought seperately.

CCleaner:

Re: the crashes/blue screens - I'd suspect bad RAM - the computer I just built had the same issues, new memory fixed them.

Re: BIOS password - like someone said, it may take removing the round battery from the motherboard, it may also take moving a plastic jumper to two specific pins to reset. If you can find a paper or online manual for your motherboard, it'll tell you specifics.

Re: the TCP/IP limit - in my experience, that's caused by some spyware in the background uploading/downloading undercover. Download Spybot (http://www-safer-networking.org) and do a full scan. Don't worry, it's legit software, I use it at home.

Test your memory :
http://www.memtest86.com/

Burn this file to a CD and reboot your computer to test each byte of your memory. Remove and trash evey memory module wich containt error. When the memory on your computer is entirely tested and good, do a full erase and re-install. (not upgrade)

You can use GnuParted http://www.gnu.org/software/parted/ to completely erase the partition before re-install.

Of course be sure to backup and blablabla

TCP/IP - TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent connect attempts
Has nothing todo with your crash. It's a stupid feature of windows xp that limit connection.
Use this software to speedup your internet by removing the limit (and the error message) http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=downloads

You have serious problems, particularly your BIOS PASSWORD issue. Start with the following links to get insight to your problem;

http://tinyurl.com/kyoxj / http://tinyurl.com/2gqsu2 / http://tinyurl.com/v9d / http://tinyurl.com/2g4woq / http://tinyurl.com/2qgxdf .

Then take your computer to a reliable tech, it would appear you presently don't have the level of skill needed to correct this problem.

More then likely you can't boot up pass the BIOS without the password, that's what it is for.

You don't need a password for your BIOS, unless you have major security problems.

Sounds like you need to do a CLEAN INSTALL of Windows, not a problem if you have the original disks that came with your computer. You can do a Web search for CLEAN WINDOWS INSTALL to get good instructions.

Make it a great day

It's Reinstall Time for the OS

You have IRQ Conflicts
Memory Problems
and whatever ISP or Modem you are using is maxing out the TCP/IP

Reinstall, and make sure you have drivers for the sound card, modems, monitor, etc.
