Help is available from the following Gender Identity Disorder forum (at the address below) right now. Don't wait, don't bother with a family doctor and give it a while before discussing with your parents. You need to speak with others who may feel as you do, and who may have found some good therapists to whom they can refer you.

Please talk with somebody at the forum who can help you right now. There is no reason for you to go through this alone. I'm sincerely concerned for you. Please try to find some peace!

You should definitely talk to you parents, although I can't find the right approch without knowing more about them. I think most parents would care most about your well-being.
You may also ask them to help you find a therapist to talk to. If you are thinking of changing genders, a therapist can help you with the mental adjustment and help you decide when you are ready to make the leap, and how you can find some peace with yourself in the meantime.
I sincerely wish you good luck and I hope for your happiness.

Baby, it's hard to take you seriously when you keep repeating your questions every few hours and bring up issues that never seemed to bother you before. And it's not nice to play with people's emotions with talk of suicide.
If you're really serious and are really 17, please understand that you haven't been around long enough to know that all problems have solutions. Give yourself time to work through them. Start with your parents and then a therapist who specializes in GID.
If you're not serious, then you need to see a therapist anyway.

Hi Jessie, I sounds like you know who you re even with male body. Many people of transgender struggle with this well into adulthood. Even though it is a birth defect many people just won't understand. I would do research and find as much valid information as you can. also check out :www.tsroadmap.com and
www.drbeck.com
After you re armed with facts then talk to the parent you are closest to. Also goggle for support groups. Good luck and you can contact me.

Look for support groups, either in real life or on the internet. Find a counselor or therapist to talk things through. I don't know about your parents, mine were horrible, so I'd not give any advice about that part.
Think things through, talk things out with who ever you can.
Good luck.

You need to talk to a therapist. They can help you work through this. If you're 17, there should be a therapist at your school. Talk to someone, get a handle on how you feel before talking to your parents.

You first need talk to a therapist and ensure yoir peesumption. Dont feel shy to talk to your parents. They may get a shock initially but they will soon come to terms to the facts of your case and support your cause.

Don't you think this is rather complicated to be resolved on a site as simple as Yahoo Answers?
Schedule an appointment with your doctor and talk to him or her.
