How will we end up at war with Iran ?

Bush wants a war -

Bush thinks it is the answer to Iraq -

Congress isn't going to let loose of the purse strings .

What to do ?

Here is what I think will happen - A missle will be spotted from Iran going tword Israel It will be wildly speculated to have bio chemical weapons and shot down by the American Navy and no Israeli's will be harmed - But with 2 aircraft carriers in the region and so forth an imediate response will be launched .

No one will see this missle but the Americans and there will be no wreckage found because there will be so much wrecjkage and an open battle field that nothing will be identifiabel .

Bush gets his justification and war happens the Congress is now put into a nice box and with terror at an all time high in America - or the fear of it - Congress will be forced into further war time spending .

Bush wins and sets the stage for American forigen policy no matter who gets into office for the next 50 yrs.

Did either of you first two people understand that I am saying that Bush wants a war and is going to make up the fact a missle was seen and order troops to shoot down the imaginary missle - Bush will lie and start a war based on this premise - ??

Oh and you would be the cool head with all the questions if a military commander said he spotted a missle from Iran headed twords Israel and ordered it destroyed - You'd be the one asking who else saw it ? Was it on the radar - where is the debris ?

Heres how I see it going. Bush has already started laying the ground work for war by saying that Iran is suppling weapons to Iraqi insurgents. they prove this by showing weapons that have markings on them that could have easily been fabricated. Next, some American solider gets alittle trigger happy and rightfully so I might add and accidentlly kills an Iranian working in Iraq. Iran responds by kidnapping a US solider. Boom World War 3 breaks out. Second senario and I like this one more. One of the 2 carrier groups in the gulf picks up a Iranian vessel on radar, instead of checking to make sure its not a commerical vehicle the US ships open fire destroying the boat. Then Iran attacks the carrier groups. Boom war world 3 breaks out. I can honestly see a war breaking out with Iran because someone accidently shots someone else.

I'd say it will start by putting emphasis on how the Iranian people are behind the Iraqi insurgents and how they have chemical weapons and that they are a threat to American people. I have already seen the negative advertisement in our media. Isn't that how the war with Iraq started? The American media has a major control over what people believe and soon the congress will shift direction. I like your theory too because it seems so doable!

Iran's words and actions are ample justification for action.

(Hey, if you don't like Bush, fine. I'm not asking that you treat him any better than the Iranian leader. Take them both at their word! Iran's leader says we wants to destroy the US and Israel; Bush says a nuclear Iran would be extremely dangerous.)

I hope we can avoid war. But it's not always possible.

It seems like Iran will decide its own fate in this case. The world has warned it, repeatedly. Bush let Europe handle the situation for three years - I suppose to avoid the "unilateralist" and "cowboy" criticism - and all that happened was that Iran is three years closer to nuclear weapons.

We will be at war because Iran will do something stupid and we will have to protect ourselves. Don't forget, the Muslims' situation is unique in that they can cease hostilities anytime they want, and the war will be over. That really is to say that the situation will only improve when they quit, whether they quit on their own, or we make them.
