I am of the opinion that women read romance novels to help make up for the romance they lack from their men. How is this different from men viewing naked women or sex acts?

Or do you disagree with my view on romance novels?

Don't let anybody tell you that romance novels are not pornographic -- they are just different media for conveying pornographic content. Men's porn is pictures, but women's porn is written words. Both employ the imagination to stimulate sexual arousal. Both derive from real people, men's from the models/actors and the photographer, women's from the author and editor/publisher. Visual porn stimulates men visually, which is how they are best and most easily stimulated. Romance novels stimulate women via fantasies of sex-laden romance, which is how they are best and most easily stimulated. And those are just the easiest parallels for me to draw.
