Oscars are very territorial fish and can be destructive fish. They certainly don't like sharing their tank with any other fish that's for sure. As for attacking heaters and filters he is obviously upset about something......

Is your tank in a high traffic area? If so you could try moving the tank to a quieter spot in your home.

What size is your tank? Oscars grow very quickly and require large tanks so they don't feel claustrophobic.

Is your filter a jet style? If so turn down the amount of air so less bubbles form and it's quieter.

I hope this helps. Good luck

I agree with MM. Make sure to get the right size tank for your fish. Your oscar when full grow will need a 55 gallon tank just for the space.

Oscars are aggresive and rowdy fish by nature. What you are seeing is not all that unusual for an Oscar. You don't say how big he is or how large your tank is but often crowded conditions makes them act up like this even more than usual and when they breed...watch out. They can tear up everything in the tank, mine sure did.
