who is suprised at the seemingly LARGE number of women on this site who don't know the timing of their own cycle and when and how they can get pregnant ??
please go out there ladies and get reliable and accurate information.

Well said. I have had loads of thumbs down on fertility questions where I have stated that the window for conception is just a few days...many women think you can get pregnant any time! I daresay I'll get a few more thumbs down for this answer, but I can take it :)

Well I'm fourteen and I am not sexual active. I may be curious to try new things. Just not things that will stop me from pursuing my dream. That's why I'm practicing abstinence. Also I did have trouble knowing when my cycle was coming on. My mom said to
keep track on a calendar. On some of these answers your getting there talking about safe sex too. condoms are good to. But there not always reliable. They don't think that you still can catch STD's. birth control. Well can be painful. My cousin took them she was always sick. When she got off of them. She ended up pregnant.

I couldn't regulate my period until after I started a very specific kind of bith control pill. A lot of women have irregular periods and nothing can regulate them. It is not always ignorance. My doctors couldn't even regulate it or decide why it was abnormal. Even after I was on few different types of the pill it was irregular. I had to switch to lo-estrin with iron supplement before my period would regulate.
As far as pregnancy is concerned I firmly believe in guys with condoms.

I know - this is extremely important, especially to teenagers.... There are statistics that show that most young girls (12- 18) don't know when they can get pregnant. And when they say that they do know they actually list their most fertile days as their days when it is safest to have sex.
Beyond that, use birth control.

there are soo many excellent site for every health need. there is no excuse for this level of stupidity. drives me mad seeing so many women is this my period or am i pregnant. please go and read up on this stuff before having sex.
