Yes, it is called Karma. It is like a drop in water, everything you do good or bad has "cause and effect" like ripples. It really isn't anything "mystical", What you do affects others and eventually comes back to you.

There is the law of sowing and reaping, you know. The law says that whatever it is you sow, so shall you reap. I noticed a lot of people call this karma, but it isn't confined to oriental religions.

yes. That is the premise of the 'secret'- which is no secret but the most obvious truth in life! They just market it like it's new news. That is why i dislike oprah so tremendously.
