Id like to add that i am a very big gamer..i spend most of my day playing games..and i am very good with computers so the control thing isnt a big issue...i was just wondering wat would be more woth my money and would be cheaper to do over time..like upgrading a comp be cheaper then buying a whole new game console in around 3 years..

I've always been a PC gaming fan, but I've also had consoles over my life, only because of the limited pc gaming selection now. It's sad to me that PC's are getting kicked to the curb when it comes to game development. I especially hate when platform compatability takes away from the game (keyboard vs. console buttons). Ever play Deus Ex on the PC? They junked the sequel so that consoles could play it.
When it comes to 1st person shooters, consoles are crap. Going from the mouse to console controllers is a pain in the butt. What multiplayer game was that on the Xbox 360 where the developers will slow down PC aiming because of the console's slow aiming disadvantage?
Hardware advances make console games obsolete too quickly. I can load up old pc games and replay them, but I tend to trade in my older consoles.
The only console I've been impressed about is the Wii, only because the controller is revolutionary. When Microsoft and Sony decide to go the same route, I'll change my mind on their consoles.

Personally, I've always been a console gamer. I find them to be more stabile (far less lag, crashes, and freezing) easy portable, simpler controls (Keyboards and a mouse feel weird to me) and just an overall easy experience. I'm also not much of a multiplayer gamer. I tend to stick to single-player games or co-op with my friends.
Unless consoles become completely obsolete and fade away in the future, essentially forcing me to switch to PC, I don't think I'll ever become a PC gamer. Though, if enough of my friends all decide to switch, then I might consider it as well.

Personally, I've never had the kind of computer that could handle the kind of game played on the console. In addition to that, console gaming is how it all started. I got my Nintendo, then the super, then the 64, and then the Xbox and Gamecube. There's something cool about the tradition of new console wars, and a device that's designed specifically for games. I like consoles.

go for PC if you want the groud-breaking, top-of-the-line experience.
go for the console if you want stability (few, if any crashes and freezes), easy portability, simpler controls (sometimes, no matter how much of a gamer you are, the keyboard can still be cumbersome), and an all-around easy experience (if your an experienced gamer then you know how much of a headache you go through if you have a new game with old drivers).
as for multiplayer, PC for online multiplayer while if you wanna go head to head with your friend next to you then the obvious choice would be the console.
it all depends on what the function of the system is gonna be

PC Gaming is great for Strategy games. The ability to stay logged on the net with wireless internet and the ability to leave the computer on 24/7 lets you play out your strategies in real time.
Also, SIMS are better on PC's vs. consoles because of the uninterrupted gameplay the PC offers you

Console...
Less fiddly controls.
I find using a keyboard to play games hard.
And consoles like the Wii are far better than PC games...
More interactivity!

PC Gaming. I find the online community that much better, and more online support. Plus you can multi-task, get online radio/music going and such. But thats my personal preferance.
