Why am I such a lousy speller?

I write well but more often than not I spell most words with more than 6 letters wrong.

You probably rely too much on Spell-Checker and don't pay attention to the changes it makes for you.

I don't think of myself as great speller at all, I love to write poetry, and chat on line sometimes. I notice most of my problems come when I'm on a thought and it's just going and I'm involved in it and just trying to get it down before lost and as quick as I can. Some people really can't spell others just aren't paying enough attention... I'm a little of both but more so just not paying attention because I catch most. Allot of people typing have more of a problem because it may not just be there spelling some people have a mind that types so much and there heads finish the rest. For example I more then once which can really through people of don't put the opposite and punctuation on words like can't haven't and so on I write can and have...because when typing to fast I say it in my head as I do so and say.. "CAN" as typing C-A-N and my head finishes the N"T. Kinda confusing but there are people who do it... I don't know if you get what I'm saying but good luck. :)

Some people can't spell well because they have trouble memorizing. Much of English doesn't make sense and you cannot rely on phonetics.
