I currently drive an Intrepid, and I do NOT want a tiny car. I'd like a midsize or bigger.

if you can afford it, take a look at a Pontiac Vibe. my mom has one i dont know if its too small for what you want, but it would fit a shorter person perfectly, im 6 foot and its a little uncomfortable for me. i was driving an intrepid for a while so i am used to a bigger car as well.

My Sis in Law is built the same way, she drove an Accord forever as she didn't want to do chhin ups on the wheel. She finally went with a Mini. She loves it and feels like she is in control.

Probally an "MG MIDGET" would be the best choice !
That way you can reach the foot pedals with your feet !
And still be able to see over the dashboard !
