Can walk out of Government and give his office to Gordon Brown without an election? (I'd like your opinions).

If not- petition the Prime Minister. Follow the link. If you want, forward to as many people as you wish.

To those on here who have said 'Doh, idiot, don't you know you vote for the Party and not the person?'

No - I don't agree. In fact many, many peoples vote is based entirely on the personality of the Party Leader (he seems a nice genuine chap with some good things to say -and so nice...) REMEMBER? When you last voted, how much were you swayed by the personality?

Would you have voted for a foul mouthed Gorgon who had superb polices?

Look - Who is making all the rules in the Labour Party? When was the last time you heard TB say 'The Labour Party believes...' It is always 'I believe...'

Tony Blair with leave Downing Street a hero. Let me explain, He is deliberately leaving well after the -sure to be disastrous - May elections. This will mean Gordon Brown can become Prime Minister with a completely clean slate and without the stench of failure from the start. For this, the party faithful will claim that Blair "fell on his sword" for the good of New Labour, Gordon Brown and the Nation. Of course the people who take this perverted view of things are scum, but that's New Labour for you.

It's about understanding politics in general. When you vote at an election, you are not voting for the Prime Minister directly, you are voting for a party to govern the country.

It is up to that party (before the election) to elect a leader. Should that party then be voted in as government, then the party incumbent automatically becomes PM. Therefore, providing that Labour are happy for Gordon Brown to be leader, he becomes PM by default, thereby negating the need for an election.

No iam not happy about Tony Blair handing over to Gordon Brown. I think that an election should be called. Gordon Brown would loose hands down. I also think that this present labour party is just an extension of the conservative party , making the same mistakes as the Conservatives did under Maggie Thatcher. Thatcher made corruption fashionable Blair has made it virtually legal.

I think the petitions are a bit of a waste of time after the nearly 2 millions that protested against road charging were ignored. It's the Scots Mafia in charge and they don't care about anyone's opinions.
