From what I hear yes. But if it had been me or my bro as a teenager, we wouldn't have dared. Even still, I would be scared to death to say something like that to her. I Guess it's all in how you raise them. Cause I know some teens who no matter what, wouldnt dare say anything like that to there mom. It's so disrespectful.

YES! It is normal for teenagers to say that...just as it's normal for the Mom to wanna knock the sense back into them for it!
I have three teenaged boys (19, 15, 13) and two that are still under ten years old. My first, and oldest, was very angry with me when he was 17...I had refused to allow him to go along with his 'friends' and get drunk.
Well! He was angry with me because they were supoosed to be 'supervised' by another parent. NOT in my life time! lol
I said nope. He said I was unfair and didn't trust him. I said I trusted him just fine..it was the other parent I didn't trust! He came back with several other responses mainly stating that I was trying to control him and keep him from having friends, and fun and everything else he could think of. All in the sake of trying to see how much guilt he could pound onto my shoulders.
And I didn't give in. That's what made him angry and he screamed into my face, "I HATE YOU!"
I don't know how I managed it...but I remained calm and looked him in the eye...hard when he's a good five inches taller than I am! I told him through clenched teeth, "You can hate me all you want today....because you'll have tomorrow to think about it. And while you're at it think on this. You may walk over to me in anger and buck up...but child, you'll be limping back!"
I didn't raise anything to him. Not my voice. Not my hand. I stood my ground and he knew he'd messed up. He said he was sorry and went to his room. The other two teens (15 & 13) watched the whole thing and to this day...they have never said they hated me They have stated that they are angry with me but don't hate me...and they've gotten onto their older brother for it.
I think it's normal for teens to say it at least once. Whether it's from annoyance, anger or attempting to guilt you. The point is...don't give into it. Tell them that you understand their feelings but you're not backing down. And, they have their whole lives to love you or hate you...the point being? A whole life.

Yes. Teenagers are at the time in their life when they are experiencing a lot of emotions. And the hormones...one minute they could think that you were the best mom in the world, the next minute they find the words "I hate you" blurted out of their mouth. Sometimes, they are surprised at the things they say because newly teens are just experiencing so much emotions. They didn't mean to say it. It just came out. They didn't even think it. It just happened.

of course thats normal. But there are different kinds of hate, there are the kind where the teenager just says it when the mom is making them mad, but then there are teenagers that hate there mom all the time, even if there nice to them. But on most cases its normal for the teenager to say that to their mom.

Is this a serious question? If I said to my mom that I hated her, she would
1. Yell at me
2. Punch me in the face
3. Call my stepdad
4. Have him punch me in the face
5. Tell me that I have bad behaviour...
Of course, I would never ever consider insulting my mom, my stepdad yes because he is a son of ***** that hits me for no reason, but my mom, Never.

Actually it is pretty normal but we really don't hate you. Just hate what ur saying. In fights we often say that painful phrase "I hate you" because we are angry and sad (hurt) so we want to hurt you too.

I guess the ones that have no respect for their moms then the answer would be yes and if that were my kid they would be getting their privileges taken away from them.
