Murphy's law is a popular adage in Western culture that most likely originated at Edwards Air Force Base in 1948. The Law broadly states that things will go wrong in any given situation, if you give them a chance. "If there's more than one way to do a job, and one of those ways will result in disaster, then somebody will do it that way." It is most often cited as "Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong" (or, alternately, "Whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time," or, "Anything that can go wrong, will," or even, "If anything can go wrong, it will, and usually at the most inopportune moment")

Just observe everyday occurences for a while and you will note that the law holds true over 50 percent of the time. Since this is not good enough to be a mathemeatical law maybe we should call it a theorem.
The law that never fails is the Harvard law which states:
"Given the closest controlled conditions of temperature, humidity, pressure and other important variables, the damned thing will do as it pleases"

The Darwin Awards would seem like a good start for proof of Murphy's law.

Actually folks there is a real basis for murphy's law and it is based in Quantum Physics where in any given situation there is a factor of uncertainty where anything can and will happen. It's a long explanation and I don't want to bore anyone with it but just know that there is an explanation -well, sort of.

Murphy's Law: Anything that CAN go wrong WILL go wrong.
Only anecdotal evidence. I was in the restaurant business for 15 years and it always seemed in effect. If we were understaffed we would always get huge crowds and vice versa. If someone forgot to do something it inevitably came back to bite us, even if it wouldn't have any other day. So there is no real evidence, but I sure believe in it!!

The proof is in the pudding and some would say.
Life is proof.
I'm proof. The day after I was my car, my state gets an unexpected snow storm.

LOL..."Law" should be in quotes. It is tongue-in-cheek way of explaining screw-ups. Similar to the "Law of Selective Gravitation," where a falling object always strikes where it does the most damage.
