I have an older compaq presario with windows 95 on it. I is not that fast but I want to update it because I can not afford a new one right now.

Hi. The cheapest upgrade would be to add some RAM. You probably use PC133 memory which is pretty cheap. You could also put in a newer hard drive to make it more reliable. Also pretty cheap and easy to do. Save the rest of your money for a newer machine in a year or two. Good luck!

You can get a cheap pc for 300-500$ Well worth the little bit of extra that you might spend to update a VERY old windows 95 install.

Sorry, prebuilt computers cannot be dealt with easily.
I'd say just sell your computer on ebay after formatting it.
