I LIKE the idea of giving up somthing for a time in order to realize that I CAN go without things, and that they are not so important as I thought. I have no real "vices" to give up, so I am stumped.

But I am on a diet- so there is no Soda or chocolate to give up since I don't have them anyway ( I gave those up for the last few years), I only really use the PC for work, so I don't need to give up that, I don't watch much TV, I don't drink very often (and when I do it is a glass or 2 of wine), I almost never eat red meat, and I don't play video\PC games.... so what is left to give up??

Anyone have any other ideas than the "usual" ones?? Most people I have asked don't know either. I work full time, and spend my "off" time reading and practicing the piano- nothing "bad" that I wold think of giving up.

Anyone have any good ideas? (no stupid answers please- this is not about religion, it is about learning to "do without" somthing for a time.)

Thanks Guys!

Look at your bad habits.

Are you cynical?
Are you sarcastic?
Do you gossip?

Find the one bad habit that hurts your relationship with God the most.

Work on that bad habit during Lent and then when Lent is over keep working on it.

With love in Christ.

giving up something for lent is suppost to be a sacrifice so giving up playing the piano or reading would be a sacrifice . . .
