Her fiancé is in the marines and is stationed there. My boyfriend and I will get to stay with them in their apartment every night except the wedding night. We will have to get a motel room. I've never been to California and was wondering what kind of prices to expect to pay for a one-night stay for two adults?

Yes, we are a on a tight budget so a cheap motel would be best. Although, I'd like it to be at least sanitary- most cheap places around here are a gamble in that aspect. Although, I suppose it's that way just about anywhere. : )

If he's a marine tell him to get yall an apt on base. Its like half the price of out in town. A room is about 50 a night on base. He should be able to get you a room there with no problem. If not then I would suggest staying at the best western and when my husband and I stayed there it was 75 a night! Good luck and congrats to your friend my husband also is a marine!

I would recommend checking out some hotels at http://www.hotels.com Sometimes you can get some good deals on nice hotels. The hotels in Hotel Circle might be a good place to look.

I've stayed at this this hotel before and it has some terrific prices...was clean with a pool and located just off of Hwy. 8 not far from Interstate 5:

Ask your friend to check around for you. She's local and knows the area.
Suggestion #2. Enter her address in Mapquest. When the map loads, magnify it to level 9 or 10. Above the map is a box that says "Select a Category." Click on that and go down to "Hotels" It will that show you (on the map) where the nearest hotels / motels are located.

Well, prices are ranged widely. A nice hotel would be 100 to 1000 dollars a nite, but you can get a room at the howard johnson for 50-60 dollars. (I happen to know that their # is 1-800-GO-HOJO)
San Diego is a great place to be and there is so much to do!!
have a great time!

I recommend the Old Town Inn or the Balboa Park Inn, the former, around $60 and the latter, around $120, both are nice, I and friends and family have stayed at both. The former has a pool and nice breakfast. Here's a link to describe each, both highly rated by travelers.
