Why is the AMD Athlon64 processor better than the AMD Sempron64 processor?

think of athlon as a sports car. and the sempron as a lil ford fiesta.

the sempron was for people who dont need all the power and speeds that gammers and others need need. so its a cheaper version scaled down version

primarily because sempron's have very little L2 cache and it generally has slower clock speeds..

think of semprons as celerons of AMD
