The store the doctor sent me to only has tennis shoes and I wear dress shoes about 5 or 6 days per week compared with wearing my tennis shoes 3 times per week while working out and maybe one other day per week. He wants me to buy the tennis shoes first and wear them a lot but I don't have the money to buy multiple pairs of shoes and really need good work shoes, hopefully kinda cute so I can also wear them out. Any ideas from others with foot problems, especially over pronation (flat feet) like myself?

other brands you might want to try are dansko, mephisto, clarks. I have bad news for you though, most shoes that are good for your feet, are not terribly cute.

Incidentally, brooks tennise shoes are awesome. I love them.

most any shoe can be used for flat feet if you buy an insole to correct the shoe's shape to that problem. You should be looking at places where they sell a large variety of insoles for them. Here is an example that may work:

I'm sure there are other insoles available at that site and elsewhere. You will have to look a little. Good luck.

Ahh the perils of buying shoes online... far better to get advice from someone who can see you run on a treadmill and give good advice - otherwise you buy the shoes, pay the extra shipping, wear them outside and find they are no good for your feet - and not be able to return them because they have been worn outside - and then have to buy another pair. Far simpler to accept the small extra cost and buy from a running store who know their stuff

my friend has flat feet like u. and from what i know, she specially custom make a sole and she place it in her normal shoes then wear it. that means she have an extra layer between her foot sole and shoe. but her doctor still advice her to wear those sport shoes. you can try asking your doctor whether they know of anywhere that makes the sole. take care.

check out at zappos.com first. They sell variety of shoes and also read customer reviews before deciding on what shoe to buy. I prefer New Balance for exercise.
