well, i live in luxembourg. If you are traveling to Luxembourg Ville (the capital), there are a few nice things to see:
In the city centre, you will find the 'eternal flame' , the Grand-Duchy Palace, and the Grund. (tourist information is located in the center square, called the Place d'Arms). There are many tours that take place, and in the spring and summer there is a train that will take you through 5000 years of history (you travel the Petrusse Valley), and a bus that takes you to the major sites. Both of these leave from the city centre.
Outside of the center, there is the American Military Cemetery, where General Patton was buried with his men. There is a commemoration and museum to be found there.
Luxembourg is also home to a great many castles, forests and trails, if this interests you at all...
Also, Trier (Germany), Metz and Nancy (France) are all about an hour by train, and the train company offers day tickets, ranging in price from 8,40 to 20,00 euro. (www.cfl.lu)
