Sometimes ill fall asleep and right into lucid dreaming but its not pleasent. I'll realize im asleep and then my body will start to fight to wake up. Once awake i tend to fall right back asleep and back into a lucid state where once again I start to fight to wake up, this can happen many many times a night and im so tired the next day. Ive tryed to control my dream to make it pleasent but it seems like my mind is straining almost like im running up hill, and anytime i need to stop because its so straining the dream takes over and i lose control, usally at this point ill start to fight to wake up. These are scary, unpleasent and unwanted and i dont know how to stop them. I know that most people have a great time with lucid dreams but for me its horriable so please if anyone has had this happen to them or knows of ways i can try to live with this please let me know.

just a update and some answers to questions. I normally do not eat right before bed and these dream happen no matter what was for dinner that evening once it went on for two weeks every night then it would stop and restart a few weeks later. Im on no medication or under any care, normally im a happy person that really loves life. these dreams are not scary in nature its the fact that once i realize im asleep i try deperatly to wake up because the control of the dream comes and go so much. The scary part is the forcing of waking up most time i end up dreaming im screaming "Wake up" over and over again and straining to fight sleep paralisets (sorry about spelling) and then jolting awake once i break from from it, then im so tired i pass out right away back into one of these dreams where i know im asleep so this goes on and on for what seems like half the night. once again thank you for your answers

I know dreams often occur right before or as your body is waking up. I always have dreams right before I wake up in the morning. Maybe your problem isn't fighting to wake yourself up during lucid dreaming but it is another problem like light sleeping. Or perhaps noises in the night wake you up and the dreaming occurs as you are returning to consciousness. Either way I would try to see a sleep specialist to determine what the problem is because not getting adequate sleep can be harmful to your health.

I used to pray also, but it really just made my brain feel like there really was a problem... The real problem with these types of dreams is that you believe that there is a problem. I woudl have lucid dreams that I was paralyzed and couldn't breathe.... I finially fixed them. I would decide to just go to sleep...Not to struggle, or worry, or try and control the dream...but just that I would go to sleep. I hope this helps.

Keep a journal detailing when you're having these dreams, how often, what they're about, etc. Also keep track of any major stress you're experiencing, what you're eating before bed, what meds you're taking. Then call your doctor. You may be having night terrors. If you're under the care of a psychologist or counselor, speak with them. They may have some suggestions about why this is happening, what it means, and what you can do about it.

May I ask what you are eating for supper, or as a snack before bed? Sometimes certains foods can make you dream (such as spicy foods). Perhaps your medication (if you take any) is the culprit. There could be many reasons - just use the process of elimination to figure it out!

I wish you a good night's sleep!

Lucid dreaming is the ability to control what happens in your dreams.
To help your dreams get better you should talk to a counselor.

Pray. It's a spiritual battle, not just dream sequences, especially since there is a pattern here.

these dreams often comes when you feel lazy and tends to forget your routine before going to bed. and if I may suggest, try these things once or twice and get the result and reevaluate the difference against your previous dreams.

1, don't leave unfinished chores in the kitchen or table before going to bed.

2, never forget to groom yourself even if its only a sleeping affair

3, never ever forget to perform your hygeine routine most especially when going to bed.

lastly, a readyness to bed leaves no unfinished dreams.
