I want to be a pharmacist one day, but the college that I will be entering next semester does not have a pre-pharmacy program. Is it possible for me to complete my pharmacy school prerequisite classes anyway? Also, how many years does it take, beginning with the freshman year of college, until graduation from pharmacy school? Thanks!

Most schools don't have a pre-pharmacy program. Don't sweat it.

It just means you'll have to make sure the classes you take fulfill the pharmacy school requirements on your own. You'll have to talk to your school's counselor and double check with a pharmacy school all the time to make sure you're on track.

Normally, you do 4 years in undergrad. Then, pharmacy school is another 4 years.

I paintings for a occupation college and spot a lot of people in Pharmacy Tech courses. whilst they get out they paintings in sparkling air conditioned environments. they do no longer make lots funds. I even have standard of somebody in a Pharmacy Tech application that had a prior bachelor's degree who did the PT application because of the fact it became into theory to offer people a greater valuable danger of shifting right into a Pharmacy application to alter right into a Pharmacist. seek advice from admissions at UOP and ask what the situation fee for Pharmacy Tech is. they could desire to have the skill to help you be attentive to. faculties upward thrust and fall on their placement costs. i'll supply you a link to the Bureau of hard paintings information (BLS) with salaries for respiratory Techs. that's a 2 year application and has an excellent sort of needs, however the income is approximately double.

You don't have to be in a formal pre-pharmacy program to be accepted into pharmacy.
On average, takes 2-4 years to complete the prepharm curriculum.

I don't know about where you are, but in St Louis, We have the St Louis College of Pharmacy. It stands on its own, and accepts students out of high school. It is a six year school, and students come out with a PharmD.
