Out of the series of four "solo" albums under the KISS umbrella that were released in close proximity to each other, I am also voting for Ace's solo album due to New York Groove. Ace also had a decent album after leaving KISS, with Frehley's Comet. There was a pretty decent single off of it that escapes me at this time

I've read the Ace's is the best. Then Gene and Paul about the same. Then Peter Criss' was bad. I haven't heard any of them though. A good place to check would be allmusicguide.com.

Gene Simmons was by far and away the best musically,but I gotta admit I really like New York Groove by Ace.

Kiss Live. Has all their originals like Detroit Rock City, Rock and Roll All Night and a ton more. They are built for live. But Kiss never was truly Solo.
