i have a graco that has a mobile and play things on the tray that won't fall off. it only holds up to 25 pounds. I could have bought another one that only has a mobile that holds up to 30 pounds. I figured the toys were more important because what is five more pounds? You just have to decide what's important to you. Go with a brand name like graco, babytrend, evenflo, etc. My other choice was some generic brand I've never heard of. When it comes to safety, go with what you know.

I have only used one, so that's all I know about. I had one of the Fisher Price travel swings with music and some toys. My daughter loved it, and still plays with it if I have it out. The travel ones sit lower to the floor, and they are very convenient because they fold up and they are smaller. We used ours A LOT!

I don't have brand names, but types of swings. Get one that is open on the top for easy baby lift out. Also, if the bar in front swings to one side, again easy baby lift out. One that makes noise while swinging may annoy you, but may comfort the baby while swinging. Hope this helps.

The brand doesn't matter. From my experience buy a swing that goes both back and forth AND side to side. My son hated his swing that just went back and forth. Friends of ours had one that did both and their daughter stayed in it for hours!!! Good luck!!!
