I've noticed a trend lately that if a woman is the least bit slim and isn't built like Queen Latif, she's automatically labled "anorexic" and accused of "starving herself"! What a load of b.s.!!! I have a theory that there is a conspiracy against thin women started by heavier-set ones as revenge for all those years of attacking "fat" women - they all got together and decided to start a campaign of labeling thin women as abnormal! - But I see right thru the deception! Even runway models can now be booted just for being skinny!

And yes, I know some models really are anorexic - but a lot of ones who aren't are getting slammed anyway!!!

"All" is definatley an exageration, but you do have a point. And I'm assuming you're not saying prejudice towards overweight people is done with, just that there's a lot more skinny people that are facing it now too.
I don't think this is anything new, people are always jelous or have prejudice against people different from them, but we do have a lot more extreme cases poping up- more people are getting extremely obese and more people are becoming extremely skinny anorexics, neither of which are healthy. It's also a case of the media- with more media we see more view points on the issue; there's more ads about it being okay to be curvy to counter the beauty-is-thin ads, so it's easier to see these opinions.
I am glad that they have regulations to keep models from being severly underweight, because this is the centre of "ideal beauty" and where girls look to to decide what "beauty" is, so the most care has to be put here.
I do see your point though, as I look fairly thin myself. I eat like a pig, but its just how my body works. It's not fair when someone says I look bad or I don't eat enough when it's just normal for me.
What it comes down to is accepting everyone's natural body type- whether it results in a little skinnier or a little thicker than the "average"- and not getting that confused with just accepting unhealthy living, which results in an unnatural body type that is just harming the person.

several countries (italy & france) have started regulating the modelling industry to avoid underweight models becasue eating disorders such as anorexia are becoming a major problem.
there is such a thing as TOO skinny, and that, unfortunately is the ideal in most developed countries. it puts forth an unrealistic model for young girls, who then in turn starve themselves to try and look like those models. some women truly are naturally skinny, but that does not make it healthy, just as some wome truly are naturally obese. most of us fall somewhere in between.

and if you think "all those years of attacking 'fat' women" are over (your wording suggests you do) you are far from correct. women who are larger than a size 7/8 tend to be marginallized, it's difficult to find clothing the bigger you are.

the REAL issue here is the unhealthy focus on the form of the female body. what people should be concerned about is their health. health should equal beauty, and health looks very differently on different women.

ps, it's queen latifA :-)

If you can see a persons rib bones, thru her back, there is something wrong. I am a full figured woman and i dont think that all skinny woman are anorexic. Actually in my family, all the females on my fathers side are very very thin and petite. I am talking 90lbs and 5'3. But they eat, alot. It is the way they are. Me, on the other hand, I eat healthy food and the right portion and yet I am heavier than they are, as with all the woman on my mothers side.

Yes I see jealousy in woman. Skinny woman are jealous of girls like me, because men like curves and big ol booties. And big woman get jealous of the skinny girls because men are attracted to them and their thinness. All it is, is plain jealousy. No matter how you look at it.

This is nothing new. 'Fat' women and 'skinny' women have been attacking each other since the dawn of time and yes, I do believe it is in retaliation to each other's put downs. Who started it though, I guess we will never know for sure.

HTH : )

All? All thin/skinny women aren't accused of being anorexic. You're not being too observant if you think they are. Some emaciated women are considered to be most likely anorexic. Have you read any statistics? Did you know that 90% of female models have eating disorders? No, clearly you didn't.

how skinny?

When a woman doesn't even have enough fat on her body to menstruate, there's usually something wrong with her. How the bag of bones ideal became the norm in the fashion industry is a mystery to me. Maybe it's because most of the designers are fruits, and they want women to resemble the skinny little boys THEY are hot for.

"I've noticed a trend..." Yes, and it's called pop culture media; their job is to sell you 'a bill of goods'. They are not a reliable source of information.

sometimes, it's just the media using 'anorexia' on the cover because crap like that sells magazines.
