I started the pill when I was 17. My periods were very irregular due to stress. I became sexually active in March of '06 and didnt have sex again until October of 06. We used a condom both times.
I have had my period consistantly without trouble. Thing is, I always am worrying that I am one of those women who have bleeding and think that everything is okay but am in reality pregnant. Has anyone else dealth with this phobia?
For those who became pregnant with monthly bleeding, how did you know that you were pregnant?

I have taken pregnancy tests to be sure :) I do take my pills at almost the same time every night. And we did use the spermicidal condoms :) Thanks, you guys are wonderful and reassuring.

I am a little paranoid about pregnancy, despite, like you, being on the pill. Be reassured that normal periods during pregnancy is really very unusual: most women who bleed while pregnant have lighter periods, or other irregularities. In a fair number of cases of women who claim that they didn't know they were pregnant, I suspect that there may have been an element of emotional denial.

Also I keep a stash of home pregnancy tests in my bathroom:-) I don't use them often, but every 3 months or so I find it reassures me to know that there's nothing going on in there. They aren't that expensive if you buy them on sale.

Most likely you would have some other symptom...watch for being unusually tired and ill feeling. I actually had a period when I first became pregnant, but it was much lighter and shorter in duration. I immediately knew something was different just because of that. I was also on birth control (the shot) and the baby turned out just fine. If you are an educated adult, there is no way you would be pregnant for longer than a few months and not know it. To be on the safe side, continue wearing condoms...I have to believe there is absolutely no way you could become pregnant if you are using the Pill correctly!

I am the same way, I always worry even though I am on the pill and use a spermicidal condom. Do you take your pills regularly, if you do not then it could cause this feeling...It's just a feeling you will have to not think about.

There are not that many women out there that bleed a normal menses when pregnant, they are normally much lighter in volume and you would likely know that something was different.

Go get a pregnancy test. That's the easiest way to tell.
