I will be traveling to the Atlantis Resort at Nassau in the Bahamas. Our travel dates will be Aug 15 - 19. I noticed that someone asked a question regarding the weather. I know that Hurricane season is June 1-Nov 30, but a few people say that Sept is the worst month. Would I be ok traveling in mid August? Should I take such a chance? or should I move it to mid July? I can only travel mid July or mid August. Thanks!

I don't really think there will be a difference between July and August. I would normally recommend that you change the dates to very early June or sometime in May, but since you said you cannot travel then, I don't think you should change your dates.

July and August are both part of hurrican season so either way is taking a chance and you won't know what the future will bring so you can't tell either way. THe crowds at the Atlantis will be the same in both situations too.

have fun though, I'm sure you will as long as the weather cooperates! Atlantis restort is so much fun and ive had an amazing time every time I go. Be sure to check out the Dolphin Encounter at Blue Lagoon Island if you can spare to spend some extra money. I had the time of my life.

If I were you I would travel in Mid July, probably the sooner the better. You could enjoy yourself and have more time to rest up after you get back. Also, August is approaching September so I would go with July. Hope that makes since.

Hurricane season in the Caribbean officially begins on June 1st and ends November 30th. However, a natural disaster can occur at any given time. If I were you I would travel in July but the dates you have chosen is fine.

I can't answer your question but I couldn't help but notice what a coincidence this is. I am traveling there also on the same dates (I think) with some old girlfriends of mine! So I hope we will be out of danger as far as hurricanes and airplane crashes, heaven forbid. But there are no such things as coincidences, right? Maybe you are one of my girlfriends in disguise, huh?!!!! Well maybe we will see each other there! Have a wonderful vacation!
