Yes not only women but race and religion.
I would answer this question with more information but I have to go. I leave you with some very good cites and a quote I found.
"Like John Winthrop, most people believed not only that women had weaker bodies than men but that they also had weaker minds."

Yes. It is still a man's world. The running of the world in the upper echolons will always be held by the "old boys club". When the women realize this and run their own world with the matronly wisdom of the female gender then you will see a lot of changes in the world politics.
The Nobel prizes are basicly run by the old boys. If, and when the women run their families, communities, towns, cities, counties, provinces, and states with a woman's perspective then you can see the discrimination start to go against the men.
It will come to the point where the young boys will be asking "Do you think men are discriminated against?"
and the answer will be Yes.
Discrimination runs rampant amongst mankinds two genders. It always has, it always will. At least until the third coming of the Christ.

Discrimination against women has been going on for centuries. Not just in winning the Nobel Peace prize but in every walk of life. There is discrimination in the work place, positions in the church and in stores that women frequent. Remember in history when women fought to give us the right to vote and the torture they endured. Through history, women have worked hard to succeed in the work place to prove they can do any job that a man can. This will continue to happen, although just look in our own government and you will find there are more women Senators, Representatives, Governors and Mayors then ever before.
Yes, women do get discriminated against when it comes to winning the Nobel Peace prize. This is defintely wrong and must be changed if we are going to move forward in our country which would give women equal rights to men.

I think you have to answer yes to this. It is getting better and I believe it will continue to improve.
Where the Nobel prizes are concerned, consider what they are awarded in. Things like physics and chemistry, sciences and until very recently society did not believe women and science mixed, despite examples like Marie Curie. There is still a very small percentage of women in science. Peace, well you have to be a politician and women still rarely appear in that field. And that is bias. Literature is about the only field that Nobels are awarded for that women do get an equal shout. Even there out of 103 prizes, women only get a handful.
You have to take into account who awards the prizes as well. Although most of the fields are male dominated, a discrimination in itself, and that explains why most prizes go to men, the committee is biased in those where women could be recognized equally.

Sometimes yes, depending on the people women are working with. In all acutality everyone gets discriminated against this way depending on the people their working with. No one has it any better or worse.
The tables are turned when it;s the women who get special treatment, and the men don't get the noble prize. And this happens with otehr groups/races and cultures as well.

Yes. Women are oppressed. I think they should receive reparations for their years of enslavement.
As an attorney, I don't see how they are discriminated against. My boss is a woman, who I respect and is a terrific attorney, and makes more money that I will ever make. Now, if I had tickets to a Bears game, I would chose almost any guy over her.
If that makes me a sexist pig, well, I guess that is what I am.

Since it's for your Woman in Science, I assume you mean Nobel Prize of science. This is normal that men are usually selected, it is because men are naturally better at science and mathematics while women are better at communicating and arts.

I think we have a ways to go, both for men's and women's rights.
But to say it's a man's world is cliche and nothing but an association fallacy (Some men are greedy/deadbeats/wife beaters/et al., therefore ALL men are!).
By the way, those men you speak of, who rule the world, haven't given me a cent!

It's a mans world and a man will be chosen over a woman if the oppertunity is there. A woman has to have some clout to defeat this age old male practice.
