The media did report that his religion was muslim. But John Gibson, as well as Utah's crack pot congressman chris Cannon got it wrong. Sulejman Talovic, the shooter, was not shouting "Allahu Akbar " while he was shooting. All of the cops, the witnesses, and victims confirm this. What Gibson and Cannon misunderstood was video tape of the shooting. On the tape you can hear someone shouting. It was the Ogden City Police office shouting "OPD, OPD Ogden Police". Gibson is just trying to make this into a hate crime, which it wasn't. It was some poor, messed up kid who went crazy. Get your facts straight. This wasn't a religious thing, this wasn't a Bosnian thing, this was a SAD, SAD event. Get a life and quit spewing hatred.

i do not truly comprehend myself. per chance they did not pick to reason an uproar or offend any Muslims. per chance being Muslim had no longer some thing to do with it. or maybe they imagine that by telling human beings this, actually everyone would commence to resent Muslims. the problem with that is that no longer all Muslims are like that. notwithstanding, i do not accept as true with the Muslim faith yet it really is not any longer a reason behind absolutely everyone to resent hate them. yet i do agree that they communicate too a lot about Anna Nicole Smith. There are extra urgent themes than her death that got here about days in the past! i'm so drained of listening to about her.

I read that he was a Muslim in an AP story?
there was a whole story about how the FBI didn't think that his religion was a factor...
the FBI may have actually asked them not to promote the fact that he was a Muslim, since everyone would assume that was the reason for the attack and it would only escalate religous tensions in the area...
believe it or not, they could have been doing it because they were asked too... but I don't know that for sure...

Was the shooting a religious oriented one? If not, what difference does it make? The shootings in the South where school age girls were killed in the basement of a black church was not done by Muslims. It is probably the work of the hate mongers again making a big deal out of what is not germain to the story.

The sad part was that the little twit's family was saved in the 90s by our actions stopping the Serbs mucking out the Muslims in Bosnia.
How's that for gratitude?

probably, because he was a nut job, not a religious fundie.
plenty of those in the area of Utah, Nevada, and Arizona.
seems like several of those incidents happen every year.
would you like them to start listing the ones that have been quiet, christian raised, model citizens??
It wouldn't make a difference to me, but i bet people would start raising an eyebrow to Christian churches.

How come the media didn't report Timothy McVeigh was a devout Christian?
What about the Christian terrorists who try to bomb Planned Parenthood clinics?

While I agree it may not have had any real bearing on the story, it would have been nice to know. Obviously there are crazies in all religions, and I don't think this was about religion.
