Personally I use a little jam/jelly, or fruit flavored syrup. (You can buy it with maple syrup). Just a little bit, but it helps cover the taste. Another thing a lot of people like to use is chocolate syrup.
If you use a liquid to mix the antibiotics in, you can give it in a small syringe.
One hint for in the future, and something I do with my rat kids is give treats through syringes. That way they get excited when they see one, and there doesn't tend to be ANY issues with giving 'sweet tainted' meds, since they are so excited about the treats! When I raise litters, I like to work on them a lot about taking treats from a syringe.
*edit* Chocolate is NOT bad for rats, like it is for dogs. Sugars should be kept low in their diet, but in the cases of meds, it is often the only way to hide them. Also DO NOT give peanut butter. It can pose a MAJOR choking hazard as rats do not have saliva, and it can get stuck in their throat. I've known rats who've died due to choking on peanut butter.

Well, bread seems popular and anything that is ok for rats and tastes good. Also if you talk to your vet they usually have syrups that you can mix the meds in to make it tast better.
You have to be careful with peanutbutter, there's always the risk of them choking on it.
And cheese generally isn't good in large amounts, or rare occasions it's ok but not a lot.

Bread, cookies (sugar or peanut butter), cake, Jam/jelly, crackers (goldfish, soup, oyster), or tofu sounds weird but some really like it!!! Remember with the sweets NO CHOCOLATE!!! it's way to overstimulating and they may die. Using cheese, fruit, etc. it too difficult with liquid antibiotics because it won't absorb. and remember all sweets in limited portions, and just to use with the medicine. Rats eat almost anything but some are picky or don't eat what smells like medicine, good luck!!! I hope one of these works!!!

I used to use a little strawberry cream cheese for my rat. She LOVED it. But the antibiotics were liver flavor. I switched vets and had the vet mix it in a cherry syrup, and she had no problem taking the meds straight.
