My, hands-down favorite is Hannibal Lector. He is so cold, methodical, intelligent. The man killed Multiple Miggs by talking to him.

I've always been a fan of Gaston from Disney's Beauty and The Beast. He's not exactly evil, but he's arrogant and influential.
I also like Freddy Krueger. He was inescapable and relentless.
The Nothing from The Never-Ending Story was pretty terrifying.
Mr. Ghostface from Scream was fun. Dr. Evil from Austin Powers was fun too.
Tyler Durden from Fight Club was cool. So was Verbal Kint from The Usual Suspects.
Vito Corleone, the Godfather, was powerful, intimidating and criminal, but also fair and wise.

For me its always been Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. When I was little I would hide when it came to the part when she slowly appears out of smoking embers in a giant fireplace, yellow glowing eyes first, then sinister smile. All through my childhood I had a fear of our fireplace at night and couldn't even sum up the courage to pass by the fireplace to get to the kitchen when I wanted water. LOL there are many great villains that have been around in my ADULT life, but non that have paralyzed me with fear like that. hahaha
