I sat next to a woman in traffic court who was wearing an identical ballcap as I. I was forced to remove mine, she was not. I asked the judge why this was fair that I had to remove an article of my clothing to get justice and she was allowed to keep hers on. I was fined $500 in contempt charges. There is no appeal process in municipal court, and I had to pay or be jailed. The food was lousy!

I believe the judge was wrong. The contempt citation sounds a bit severe. Was there more? Did you mouth off? When in court show respect for the judge.

It has been my experience, that if one makes a woman remove her Hat, one can expect way more confusion with all the hair fixing and the how do I looks.. So it's much better to just let them alone and get on with Fining you for contempt.
