If you have never been-there is a lot to see. Get a tube pass (subway) for a couple pounds, and it will last you the whole day. Make a stop at a tourist centre and get a route map of the city (you'll need it). From there-depending on what you like, you can see different things. The Tower Bridge is cool to see-and only a couple pounds to tour the inside. St. Paul's cathedral is beautiful to tour. Also, if you have never been there-Piccadilly Circus is great to just walk around and see. There are numerous museums that are free of charge to go see (like the Natural History and Science museum). London is a wonderful city-and with only a couple days-you'll wish you had more time. I can't give you too much advice on night life-but there is plenty to choose from. Have a great trip!

I'd agree with Jennifer, the free museums are really good. Don't be put off by the geeky museum preconception. I would really recommend both the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum and they're right next door to each other too.

You can also search on the Time Out website for free events in the Around Town section. Free lunchtime concerts, walking tours etc etc

Enjoy your trip

Free? hmm, that would include the social services (health care), but that's about it. Almost everything across the pond is hella expensive, and the exchange rate sucks as well.

yes visiting the museums would be free and it is actually pretty fun...or what about having a walk in regents park...or just going out to covent garden or something
