this is only something you can answer , I have always had dogs & did when growing up, Ive always let them sleep on the bed & sometimes in it , Until i had my son then i when i got my now dog sox she was not allowed on purely because my baby would be . Now he is older i let her every now & then . But she has her own bed & knows to go in it when told. With your situation its very diff , you have to put up with lots of pets , personally i would not let that many on the bed i think thats alittle overboard , & would be no doubt uncomfy . What you dont mention is , is this at your girlfriends house ? or do you live together . Why not just say (nicely though) You like the pets & all but at bed time you would prefer them not to be on the bed & that you would like it to be just the 2 of you. by saying that you are still sayin u like them so not hurting her feelings but yet also saying u want time with her in bed . Again making her feel good (well in theory) .. there could be a prob with the dogs learning to accept the new off the bed rule if they have always been allowed on , this can be changed but will need patience & do not shout or stress , either buy a huge doggy sharing bedjust for the pooches, buy them each a bed, or have them out of the bedroom at nights. let them know whos boss & you will have it sorted . but approach it gently with ur missus 1st & check her reaction . good luck

Well it is not the 'norm' in most peoples lives, however as long as all the pets are keep clean, the bed clothes changed at least once a week and you are not getting sleep deprived by them waking u up in the middle of the night then i can't see a problem with it. Personally i have three cats and a horse, we wouldn't all fit in my bed! The kitties do sleep on the bed but i usually put them in the other room or out at night because i need the leg room for tossing and turning, it feels too claustrophobic with them at the end of the bed. Also cats usually wake up round 4am and want to be put out, so putting them out before bed means i get a better night sleep. The only real advantage of having them in bed is they keep your feet warm and sometimes if your not feeling well they will cuddle up under your chin and give you Dr. Kitty cuddles, people with pets are happier people.

My dog used to sleep in bed with me, he would kick me when he was dreaming, it could be a bit annoying. Four dogs and five cats however is probably a bit much you cant get a very good nights sleep with all that leg kicking, snoring and four dogs farting!

I hope you've got a large bed or 4 small dogs.
My dogs would usually sleep on my bed with me or right by the side of the bed - even when my boyfriend stays over.

apparently if you sleep with Ur animals in bed they consider you as one of the pack, but you may actually find that you have a better night sleep if you leave them in another room in the House and also there behaviour will improve
