I was reading some questions yesterday and they made it seem like Latinos despise Blacks. Do they not know the history of Blacks and Latinos or they wish we despised each other? I mean look at countries like Venezuela, Cuba, Brazil, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico where you have so many Afro-Latinos.

And then when they use examples of how Latinos hate Blacks they always point to the gangs and how it is in prison.

I agree, many Hispanics are Black. Many are White, and many are simply Hispanic from the country, __________.

Some people on here are so closed-minded--they hear one comment, and then stereotype everyone in any given group of people into that comment.

Black people are hated across the planet, so why should Latinos be different.

Anyhow, the so called "White latinos" are mixed with some kind of black DNA, living in those islands. Puerto Ricans have black skin colour too, as well as Brazilians and Mexicans. So yea, Latinos/as, no need to be racist to a black when you are one yourself in some form.

Many Latinos ARE black though. Many people actually say that Latinos are black full stop on here. But the thing is, their not a race, they just happen to be people who live in a Spanish speaking country. Brazil isn't Latino, Brazillians speak Portugeuse. The definition of Latino is someone who belongs to a Spanish speaking country. Alot of people are confused about this. Hispanics are people who's ancestors come from Spain. Alot of people mix Latino and Hispanic up too. The fact is Latinos can be white, black and mixed race.

As a black woman I can only go by my experience and recent events. I have only had experience with Mexicans and Puerto Ricans. Where I am from most Mexican people do not like blacks. When I was growing up blacks and Puerto Ricans were tight. I dated a few Puerto Ricans guys. Recently, I have notice lots of Hispanics (Mexican and Puerto Ricans) marry and dating white. To me it seem like they are distancing themselves from blacks. Sometimes these Latinos: Dominic, Cubans, Brazilians etc come over here and believe in the negative stereotypes of blacks too. They snubbed the nose and think they are better than blacks.

I live in Florida and the hispanic population here is staggering. Most of my friends are of Puerto Rican, Cuban, Colombian descent.

I don't hate hispanics and I have never been in a situation where I've felt discriminated against by hispanics. I love my latin friends!!! by the way... I'm black.

Why does the world think that discrimination is ONLY held by caucations.
I'm sure every race has their fare share of racist biggots, as well as their fare share of tolerant respectfull people.

It's a two way street.
