Dropship is a term used in the wholesale industry when the wholesaler does not stock a product but can order it for you from the vendor. usually there is a shipping charge that goes along with these orders.

Wholesale is the term that usually describes the price that a wholesale distributer buys a product from a vendor for.

When you dropship, you are playing middle-man (via E-bay in this case) to a wholesaler. You are acting as their salesman. you will be taking orders, ordering and paying for the goods, and having them delivered straight to the customer (drop-ship).

If you were a wholesaler, you would have what you are selling in your inventory -- usually large quantities in a warehouse. You would have the overhead of paying for the warehouse rent and utilities, and tax on the inventory, etc. You would be your own middle-man if you decided to ship retail quantities from your warehouse.

The key to E-bay sales is a very hard one: you need to find products that actually sell, and actually have a high demand. If you find a few of these products, and a decent supplier, then you can make good money on E-bay. The problem is -- those products are actually few-and-far-between, and the few products that are in high demand are already being sold my many, like yourself.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOUR COMPANY - SO I AM ONLY RESPONDING TO THE OPENING QUESTION:

Dropship: You may buy a product at wholesale or some price higher. Your dropship supplier, will deliver the product to your customer. The customer was suppose to pay you, you pay the dropship supplier and all is well.

Wholesale, You buy in mass a product and sell in smaller quantities at higher price to your customer. The Supplier ships all the product to you, you have to ship it to your customers.
