Liberal Elite are appalling. To them, every Bible believing Christian lives in a trailer park and every Bush supporter lives in a " 'deliverance' state"...

Remember Baldwin when he tried to insult Sean Hannity by calling him a 'construction worker', as if that was an insult?

So what is wrong with living in a Trailer park or a Red Sate? I live in neither, but that doesn't make me a good person. Liberals will get these when the Proletariats wake up and realize these people are not their friends...

1917 NOW!

Isn't it comical that liberals always call us fascists? Could anything show their ignorance of politics more? Hitler and Mussolini were both socialists i.e. liberals.

Dude, I am a liberal democrat who grew up in East Tennessee. I am the product of Bristol Tennessee Schools, which are actually very good.

Of course when I lived in Iowa, they asked me if I went to a one room school.

Liberal Elitism is not really the problem. Provincial elitism is a problem. I love the folks in Iowa dearly and they are some of the friendliest people I have ever lived amongst, but they have a chip on their shoulder about their education system and guys it's not any better there than Tennessee. I had my kids in both and honestly preferred the Tennessee schools.

This is just one example, but look at Hollywood. Hollywood makes movies in Vancouver about 2 cities New York and LA. I can't stand either place and would never choose to live in either one. And in fact I'm very glad those folks on the coasts haven't discovered how good those of us in the middle of the country have it.

And of course Southerners and rural folks have historically been depicted as quaint dummies. Great example is the movie with Reese Witherspoon, "Sweet Home Alabama". And of course the father is a re-enactor and loves his recliner. The recliner was depicted as somehow a redneck sort of a thing. Of course all the folks in LA and NY watching the DVD in their lazy boys probably never gave that a thought.

The bottom line is that no single state or region in this country, red or blue has an edge...every part of this wonderful country has its fair share of dummies and they come red and blue, liberal and conservative.

The best way to combat elitism is to understand that you are only as inferior, stupid, etc. as you allow yourself to be treated by someone else.

there are far fewer liberal elitists than Republican elitists...

I can't count the times that I've heard Republicans basically say poor people are worthless and they are all lazy. They usually go on to say that anyone who tries should be able to make several 100,000 a year and if you're not, you're not trying...

I see some "liberal elitism" on here, but far more from the Republicans...

BUT THE THING IS... I don't get it...

a large portion of the Republican constituency is hard working, near the poverty level in the south, not that there is anything wrong with that, it's just the facts...

why do they have such hatred for a large portion of their constituency?

Elitism is fundemental to Liberal philosophy. The whole idea of leftist is that the average person cannot properly manage their own lives. And that what they really need and want is someone willing to make those decisions for them. The premise of this philosophy is that people that care enough and are smart enough to manage all our affairs actually exist. The simple fact that no one can know what is best for everyone else escapes them.

Just look at what points are made about liberal leaders. How smart they are and how much they care. It's pathetic.

Bottomline is we've got only one way to defeat the liberals. That is to join them. Go along with their socialist schemes and bankrupt their socialist programs. The enemy is not the liberal loafer that kicks back and draws government benefits, its the hard working tax payer that feeds the monster by paying taxes. It is the tax payers that provide the goodies handed out by the socialist programs.

There are elitist liberals to be sure, but that doesn't mean that all liberals are elitists. There are also a fair amount of holier than thou conservatives, but it doesn't mean that all conservatives are religious. Hypocrisy runs rampant in political debate and neither side has a monopoly on it. It would be nice if we could all just stick to honest debate on the issues, but it is just never going to happen. Frankly, I have just stopped worrying about who thinks they are smarter and all the other little "I am better than you are" mentalities. It is just too mentally exhausting and detracts from what is really important. We are all Americans! We need to start acting like it again and let all the red state/blue state and other name calling garbage die the death it deserves.

I'm appalled by the divisiveness of this question. It's time for us to look beyond "liberal" labels (now considered an insult) and look at what different people are doing to improve the world.

We should respect all construction workers who are dedicated to their craft. We should disrespect the wealthy stock broker or executive who takes unfair advantage of his customers, employees, or investors. People of all economic status should be given the opportunity to use and perfect his or her god-given talents.

People who promoted 'equal opportunity' are faced with the label of 'liberal'. At one point, 'liberal' had a positive feeling to it. Now we are using the label 'progressive' to denote people who are promoting a level playing field between the different socioeconomic groups.

Liberal elitism, that is one of the phrases used by the hate mongers on conservative talk radio. You seem to be clarivoyant. You can see into the minds of EVERY liberal. All, of course are elite, whatever that means. It is all clap trap from the hate mongers of conservative talk radio and the people stupid enough to believe all of what they spew.

yeah, i keep hearing about this liberal elitism but never actually see it anywhere other than right wing tool talking points.

i live in the boston area - if liberal elitism existed i would have seen it and i don't.

but hey, you did your right wing tool duty for the day - you did you hatchet job on behalf of the right wing noise machine - though you departed from the script at the very bottom there.

carefuly son, your right wing masters won't tolerate your free thinking.

come into the light - it's really very nice over here...

Any elitist is disgusting and degrading towards every one around them. Doesn't matter what their political affiliation is.
