I'm an 18 year old from Toronto,Canada who will be taking the GED test in the summer. My question is could I go to a college in the U.S if I'am succesful with passing the test? I'm asking because my dad lives in Florida and I plan to move out there and go 2 college as well.

It depends on the college. Most community colleges are more lenient towards letting GED recipients in. (Plus they cost less) Once you establish a good GPA at the community college, you're good to go to pretty much any university.

I had dropped out of highschool after having my son at 15. I studied independantly and recieved my GED. I went to college off-and-on throughout active alcoholism and addiction. When I was sober for a year, I became an EMT then on to Paramedic. Getting my GED was the best thing I ever did second to getting sober. That is an awesome thing for you to do and Good Luck to everyone trying to do the same. Remember, It is NEVER to late.

Yes and u will have to take an entrance examination before determining what classes u r eligible to take and to see if u r college material. They're preparatory exams to help tell the college where u stand academically.

Yes. Just make sure you have documentation and you'll probably have to start out in a community college.

I'm pretty sure that you can, but it would probably be smarter to start at a community college first to establish your transcript, then move to a university.
