I posted this as an answer to another question, but I want to see the response, so....

Isn't it funny how it's practically illegal to be a democrat, yet nearly everyone is sick of current republican policy and leadership, and I guarantee that there is not a president alive who has not quoted JFK in some speech or other. Pres. Reagan often quoted Pres. Roosevelt, who was considered very liberal in his day. I am neither conservative nor liberal, republican nor democrat, but I am so sick of the mudslinging that is coming primarily from conservatives! This is for everyone: If y'all are so great, why can't you come up with more meaningful, thought-provoking political questions than "Why are liberals so stupid?"!!!!!!!!

The only reason this question seems aimed more toward conservatives is because (on here, at least) more of the mudslinging is being done by conservatives, from what I have seen. By "y'all", I was referring to everyone, on both sides. The last statement could have easily contained "Why are conservatives so stupid?" My point is that it seems like the people who feel strongest in their political beliefs seem to be wasting everyone's time with senseless rants instead of offerring genuine suggestions and discussions to correct political problems. Why is that?

The current President and his media supporters have been mounting a massive political campaign to turn the country to the right for the last 20 years. One of their strategies is called 'redefining'.
They have attempted to redefine themselves (the far right) as centrist Republicans, and therefore true Republicans have been called RINOs - (Republicans in name only). This has shifted moderates over to the 'Liberal' label and put ANY Democrat under the label of 'LEFTIE'.

They blur the issues that are dear to Democrats, such a protecting Social Security, into Socialism and wealth-redistribution...something few democrats would support. Their other aim is to create such confusion by making misleading statements that can only be countered by a detailed and complex response - again for the purpose of making the other side look 'tricky'.

The only way to counter these misrepresentations is to clearly speak up and take back our own identity. The majority of Americans support us on our issues when they are clearly stated.
The deception has been crumbling . The last 6 years have shown the disconnect between the rhetoric and the actions of the Bush administration.

Yahoo has been making some progress in removing the users who post questions such as you describe, and the remaining users have been getting better at ignoring them and leaving them to expire with zero answers.

Well, you say you are neither conservative nor liberal, republican nor Democrat yet ASK "why are Ya'll" so great?

And how slanted your view is when you believe the mudslinging is predominately from the conservatives?

There should be no mudslinging from either side. Period.

But just as people are fixiated on Brittany, Anna Nicole, etc they are also only interested hearing character assignations. How else can you explain why there is so much of it? Just look at yesterday.......Obama and Clinton. Then Richardson calls for a "gentleman's agreement to not do that, but only for the Democratic side! So it's ok to hurl insults and attacks against the Republicans but just not within the "Party of the Libber"? How biased is that?

You are very naive to think this is isolated one side or the other. And it's not practically illegal to be a party member/ follower - republican or democrat.

So your question is really pointed at conservatives. Try to rephrase and ask in a more neutral manner, if you truly are "neutral".
