does anyone have the first blody clue what "take your seaside arms and write the next line" means???

i would assume it goes along with the lines prior "always slipping from my hands, sets a time of it's own"........meaning sand. perhaps they mean they can't "write the next line" because the meaning/idea/thoughts keep slipping away?

Maybe it is a line in Nabakov's Lolita. I can't seem to verify this line is in the book and have no clue what the context is so who knows for sure...
