It usually works good if you come from a prominent family and want to keep those ties.

Women typically use their maiden name as a middle name when getting married as a way to preserve their family's name, instead of hyphenating the last names. Yes, if you were to get divorced you could change your name back if you make sure to file the correct paperwork.

As far as I can tell, the advantage in using one name over the other is mostly that it makes you happy. There aren't any practical consequences of which middle name you choose to use. Heck, I don't even think there are any real advantages or disadvantages of never changing one's name at all after marriage - it's all in what you, yourself, perceive as important. My grandmother, my mom and myself have kept our maiden names throughout our lives, and so far we have failed to notice any practical consequences - other than that we like our names, and it makes us happy to use them. It really is up to an individual.

no there is not and with my first marriage i did not change my name but when i got divorced i had to fill a form out (really simple one page) to get my maiden name back even though i never changed it !? which was weird but it was OK since on all my credit cards and such it was my maiden name so either way in the end you would have to fill out a form to keep your name the same anyway so it would not matter i don't think and in order to change your middle name i think you would have to go to court since when you get married the only name you can change is your last name i do believe

If you have money then there are advantages. What ever name is dead last will more then likely be the one used. Just take the married name. It's easier all the way around.
