I'm on a *really* stiff budget. Any advice on where to get the cheapest yarn? Or free even? I live in NW Connecticut.....

Thanks!

If there is a Joann's, AC Moore, Michael's or some other craft store in your area sign up for their sales flyer - they typically include coupons when they send it out. Also sign up for their online newsletter, that will have coupons for online deals as well. Also check out freecycle (.org and on yahoo groups) to see if there's anyone giving yarn away (you can post that you're looking to prompt someone to post that they have it).

As always, the thrift stores are the best place to start in the winter. In the summer, yard sales usually have yarn and whatnot for not much money. I have found all kinds of needlework kits partially done, yarn, needles, and how-to books for next to nothing. I take out what I want, and recycle the rest (unless it's outlived its useful life). You'd be surprised what you can find for a quarter.

The other obvious place is people whom you know who share your interest. I have a number of projects I've started, but lost interest in for one reason or another. If someone mentions the need, I pass it along. For free, of course.

Good luck!

Maybe e-bay would have lots of yarn that you could buy for cheap.

go to freecycle.org and look for your area and then put up a request for yarn... usually you have to give something away first..... Ü
