1st of all wide snowboards typically suck and are harder to turn, secondly you need to be a little more specific as to the type of riding you will be doing (pipe&park / cruizing / backcountry ), where you live (type of snow), the amount you will be riding (everyday verses 2-3 time a year), and your overall level of riding skill.
I would say if you wanted an all mountain board beginner board then go with a something in the 156-159 but you really need to take a lot more into account before you buy a board. also palmer makes a power plate system to help minimize toe drag for people with large feet...you might want to take a look into this as well.

Each snowboard model comes with a size chart to tell you what weight range is recommend for each size. Speak to the people in the snowboard shop because they may recommend going up or down a size depending on your ability level and where your weight falls on the chart. Whether or not you need a wide board really depends on the model. See if the shop can set up the bindings to accomodate your foot on a regular board.

you are gonna need a wide board to avoid toe drag. i'm about 5' 8" and i rock a 153. you wanna make sure that the ride fits your style. you are gonna want different sizes depending on whether or not you ride powder or park.
i suggest getting a Mark Frank Montoya pro model board cuz he is big and tall so one of his boards could fit your style.
good lookin out

kinda depends weather u want a park board or an all mountain board. you dont need a wider board for big feet. if u want a park board u should go within 145-155, and if u want an all mountain board u should get a 150-160. you always should be szed by weight.

Stand with your feet apart at shoulder width. Put your arms straight down pointing your fingers to the ground. Have someone measure from finger tip to finger tip and that is the exact size for board you will need because it is measured from foot stance.

If you're a homosexual, then by all means get a snowboard. If you call yourself straight, then get a hetero sport to go along with your heterosexualism.
