I've had two miscarriages. One in January and one in September of 2006. My ob/gyn says that I have a misshapen uterus and fibroids. Apparently surgery is not an option for me. All my husband and I want is to have a healthy baby. Does anyone have any legitimate advice? No goofy people answering this, please.

Since the cause of most miscarriages is due to chromosomal abnormalities, there is not much that can be done to prevent them. One vital step is to get as healthy as you can before conceiving to provide a healthy atmosphere for conception to occur.

Exercise regularly
Eat healthy
Manage stress
Keep weight in healthy limits
Take folic acid daily
Do not smoke
Once you find out that you are pregnant, again the goal is to be as healthy as possible, to provide a healthy environment for your baby to grow in:

Keep your abdomen safe
Do not smoke or be around smoke
Do not drink alcohol
Check with your doctor before taking any over-the-counter medications
Limit or eliminate caffeine
Avoid environmental hazards such as radiation, infectious disease and x-rays
Avoid contact sports or activities that have risk of injury

You can also consider adoption or surrogation.
I really believe you can make it. Dont give up!

See a fertility specialist in your area as soon as possible. They know all the options thoroughly and will be the best and fastest road to having a baby. They can tell you whether it's possible or not with your specific circumstances. Don't waste time with regular ob/gyn. Time is precious and you don't want to continue having miscarriages. Let them help you. You could sign up on the message boards and get answers from actual fertility specialists on the website listed below.

ignore the first guy he's stupid, well I dont know about you, but i believe in miracles, there was a lady that i knew who had to had at least 6 or 8 miscariages, something was wrong with her too, just like you. The doctors, kept telling her that she might never be able to have children, but her and her husband are Christians, so they prayed about it every night that they could have a baby, well when she got pregnant she thought it would be another miscariage but instead she actually had her healthy baby boy, she has two sons that are perfectly healthy, there a little stuck up, but healthy.... so dont give up the fact that your not going to able to have one, because you will. God does answer prayers, you know...... have a good day :o)

You are being too goal oriented, my suggestion is to relax and don't concern yourself with having a baby and just kick back and enjoy sex with one another. It may have a two fold effect you will grow closer with your partner and you may have a baby. If you all you care about is having a baby is the baby it could develop resentment for each other, you may say it's your fault for not getting me pregnant and his for not getting pregnant. So slow down and just enjoy your life together. Stop putting so much pressure on yourself.

Ask your doc for a specialist referal and then go. I don't know firsthand about a mishapen uterus, but I also have fibroids and they didn't interfere with my pregnancy at all. See if your current doc can treat your medical issues or go to someone who can.

My BF had the same problem, for a couple of years they just tried and tried and tried.

My advice, is be patient.

God will bless you with a baby on his time, not yours.

I gave the smae advice to my BF, and after humbling herself, she got pregnant, and now her daughter id 4 years old.

i dont know much about your condition, but have you considered surogucy? (sp?) or adoption? if you hire a surrogate it'll still be you're child because you'll use your egg and your husbands sperm, but it can get pricey and you'll need a really specific contract written up to protect yourself and the woman you hire.
