I believe that there is a new addiction in people's life. it is sex-addiction. I have heard of some people who have multiple partners and have a deep need to have sex with a new person everyday. Or at least once in about a couple of days. They are not prostitutes. They are normal people like us. Why do they have such a necessity even though they are completely aware of their gullibility to sexual diseases?

This is not new. It's been going on since the beginnig of time. Marriage between one man and one woman is the relatively new trend. Polyamorous behavior in humans has been going on since man/woman crawled into caves for shelter.

many people find an "acceptance" when they have sex with people. crazy, i kno, but it happens. they feel like "oh, if im good enough to have sex with, then i must be a good person, YAY!" they are sooo wrong. i mean, seriously, who wants to marry someone who's been with 50+ people? youre right, they run the risk of disease, and most of the time, they are aware of that risk.
some people like to have sex. plain and simple. as for why they search for new people every day, who knows? its dangerous and unsanitary. if they have kids, they are more succeptible to sickness and disease too. *shrugs* its not what "we" (people who arent sex addicts) think as normal. but they think it is.
often times, these people come from families where there parents have dont the same thing. they think "if mama does it, it must be ok". some sleep with people for money. some do it for the thrill. some do it because they liek to be dirty. but most of the time, its because they feel accepted. its a very sad thing.

Nothing new about that addiction, the ancient Romans had places just for that, all the orgy rooms and everything. I think the new addiction is CELL PHONES. Everyone seems to think they "need" to be reachable all the time. Some people even use them while driving!

Why do GAMBLERS have such a necessity even though they are completely aware of LOSING ALL THEIR MONEY?
Why do SEX ADDICTS have such a necessity even though they are completely aware of STDs?

They are called sex addicts, it is nothing new and there is probably a support group right now in session in your neighborhood.
and oh ya, some addicts practice safe sex too!

I like to think of it as more of a hobby than an addiction. I am giving up bondage for lent though.
