The applause should be deafening, but I doubt it would be happening at all were not a certain Mr. Blair trying to clean up some of the mess he's made, so that it can appear that he is a "good" Prime Minister on leaving office later this year.
I think we might expect some other bits of "good news" prior to his departure. Just wish I knew what other sweeties he might throw to us children before he goes.

I am happy for the soldiers as they can return home back to their families but i feel sorry for the rest that are still there.
I would n't say i was happy, look at all the damage this war has caused, all the people that have died. Do you think the families of all those that have died are happy, ofcourse not! all this is too little too late!
This war should never had happened in the first place, now everybody is suffering from the consequences.

The British Forces should have never had to go into Iraq in the first place.
If Bush senior had had the balls it would have been over during the first Gulf War.The Coalition Forces should have never stopped at the border between Kuwait and Iraq. They had Sadaam on the run and should have invaded then and captured him or killed him - who would know? LOL.
Come to think of it ,who would have known if the trooper that captured him had actually shot him?No one would have queried it - Sadaam had a gun after all - who`s to argue that it wasn`t self-defense ??

I'm in Iraq now with the US Armed Forces, and I can say without a doubt that the Brits are some of the bravest souls I've ever met. They are, a however, a bit mean as well. I saw one Brit on a tank shoot a towelhead with his grease-gun at 50 feet through the nose, and when the guy's head opened up out the back, this British tankman just laughed an evil laugh like I'd never heard. I'm sorry to see them go, but hell, we've got no reason to be here either. When we didn't find WMD's we should have left one Captain with a note of apology for Saddam from Bush and a key to his cell. Saddam would have cleaned up that mess in about 6 months. But we let them hang him so now we are screwed. He knew how to control these animals.

Yes, I would think that everybody would be happy that British troops are coming home, but it would appear that the British people were hoodwinked(some would say lied to) by Blair and his ilk in the first place, so it is worth asking is the same thing happening now? Makes you wonder what Blair is up to. Devious to the end.

I'm over the moon for our lads, how bad is it risking your lives to give democracy to a race that will never have peace because they're heathens, good is what I say, the sooner the better.
