Somehow I feel that if we had just left them alone, there would have been no 9/11 at all.

Some of these responses are laughable.

"We were leaving them alone when 911 happened. You must have been in grade school not to remember. "

Oh my lord. You need to learn some history my friends. Euros and Americans have involved themselves in the affairs of Middle East politics since the beginning of last century. A great example is how the country of Iraq came about. Did you really think that the Kurds, Shiites and Sunnis came together to start a country? What really happened is that England carved up the land and created the borders, mixing the 3 factions together instead of letting them sort out their own problems. Just look up some history and you'll see the United States has much Middle East blood on its hands as well.

Can you really compare the amount of colonization caused by Europeans throughout history with whatever those in the Middle East have done? Ok, let's go far back. Euros were no strangers in the Middle East. And most likely, America was seen as an extension of Europe, therefore would share the same animosity that was focused on Europe for the history of colonization that white Europeans caused on others.

But please, cite me a time in history where the Arabs made significant footholds in large European countries or even on the western hemisphere? Now name all those people murdered in the name of white Christianity.

Canda does get attacked. Google "Barry Adams Fuqra" for one solid occasion. just about each u . s . a . gets attacked with the aid of terrorists. Why? via fact somebody someplace could have a grudge and a few bomb making instruction manual, no rely the place you flow. it rather is why i think of the word "conflict on terror" is poorly chosen. it rather is impossible to win a conflict on a tactic. a collection, a individual, a u . s . a .? advantageous. A tactic? no longer likely to artwork. yet besides, we've substantial different and young toddlers terrorists who will nevertheless attack, to no longer point out the million different non islamic people who've a grudge with us for one reason or yet another. So no, pulling out would not provide up terror assaults.

Ummm......Yeah, let's just leave them all alone. That way Islamic extremism can grow. Then once they take over all of Europe and plan an attack like Pearl Harbor to draw us in. Then we can have WW2 all over again. Very smart. The difference between this and WW2 is that we are taking action now instead of letting it get out of control like the Nazis. Yes, I know we've lost over 3,000 soldiers in Iraq. But in WW2, we lost 4,000 soldiers a week for 4 years. All because we decided to remain neutral and the Nazis gained too much power. The main difference between the Nazis and the Extremists is that the Extremists wear turbans and have access to the internet. I'm sorry, but I would rather not see that happen again. I would rather my kids or grandkids not have to deal with this either.

Maybe. I say the US just leave the middle east and let Israel do what it wants. Israel doesn't even need our support... a couple of days of carpet bombing, and they can have their Greater Israel or whatever they want... excise the tumor in their capital city and build their Temple back, too...

Jenn: People have been meddling with the Middle East for an eternity. The Turks were there, then the British were there, both long before Americans got there...

well, you must look at it historically. The 'WEST' starting with England pretty much carved out nations like Iraq, created Israel etc before they left the M.E - post colonialism and it's been a sorry state ever since. Now, I don't think it started just yesterday with 9.11- it's an old problem. Just new to new generation Americans.

Well, The black people in Africa didn't do anything to them and Arab Muslims are killing off Africans left and right.. So.......probably not. You mentioned people need to learn history, you may want to do the same.. Thomas Jefferson was having to fight muslims as early as July 1785 As is recorded in George Washington Papers at the Library of Congress, 1741-1799 .
This is what Thomas Jefferson had to say about these "victims" of the middle east in the book
American Sphinx: The Character of Thomas Jefferson
by Joseph J. Ellis ;
[Jefferson] answered us that it was founded on the laws of the prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners…
During the 1786 meeting in London of Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja, the Tripolitan ambassador to Britain, questioned the ambassador as to why his government was so hostile to the new American republic even though America had done nothing to provoke any such animosity. Ambassador Adja answered them, as they reported to the Continental Congress, “that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise.”

Sound familiar? This is not because some of us are "white" you may want to learn a bit more about Islam before you hand them the Nobel Peace Prize and continue to blame the white man for all the troubles of the world...............

How typical of the self obsessed. islamic fascism is not about race but about culture. If your question was valid we would have to ignore the killings commit ed by islamics in the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Darfur, Algeria, Iraq, and any other place the islamics have raised their ugly heads. islam knows no race.

Geez you are mis-guided. "White people" are not the issue. It's the fact that western society, whether it be white, black, hispanic, asian, or whatever is impossing their values on the arab people. There were alot of attacks before 9/11. Learn some history before you publish your racism.

Radical Islam has been waging Jihad since the early 1970s. Most people just prefer to keep their heads in the sand and hope it just goes away. Can handle the truth.........?
