My perception of beauty is exactly that - my perception.

Beauty is, if anything, subjective - that's about the only concrete thing to be said on the topic in my opinion.

Plastic surgeons have written many books on "Aesthetics". Physical beauty is a mathematical equation. It has been socially tested and proven in all cultures. The symmetry of the face, distance between eyes, and geometric shapes formed. Additionally, "Youth" and youthful qualities are also desired when basing reactions on outer beauty only. Women with a hip to waist ratio of 0.7 are highly desired; and men with an inverted "Isosceles Triangle" for their "Core" is desired (level broad shoulders getting narrow towards waist). A man's face shape is also important. If he has a 'Long Oval Face', he is often perceived as a "Villain" and a face with a strong right angle jaw is perceived as a "Hero" face. .

These studies include all age ranges (baby to old), and all cultures. They measure the "Eye Dilations" to measure what is aesthetically appealing. When a person (baby to old person) sees beauty, their pupil's of their eyes get large. There are some small variances in different cultures; however, the mathematics of the face is still constant. The weirdest thing I read (dunno if true) is that Asian cultures prefer people with black teeth, while Western Cultures prefer white teeth (Dunno???). Hair colors, eye color, rarely play an important part in attracting attention.

Inner beauty is someone wills no fear, who's patient, kind, not jealous or boastful, doesn't delight in wrong doings, but rejoices in truth. Always willing to forgive, trust and hope for good things.

"beauty is in the eye of the beholder (or beerholder)"

My preception of beauty is influenced by what the television says is "beautiful". Beauty is the type and look of people you see as you are growing up.

Beauty to me is on inside and the outside is just a shell.

Like in the Seven Deadly Sins, "A woman so ugly on the inside she couldn't bear to live if she wasn't beautiful on the outside"

I don't have any really, I've seen my share of outwardly beautiful people who are so ugly, nasty and sometimes even EVIL inside and I've had my share of the total opposite. So I just deal with people on an intellectual level - it's the only real way for me.

Beauty is being able to see all the joy and pain in the world and not letting all the death and greif ruin your experience. This world is beauty, and everything it creates is beautiful.

i think beauty starts on the inside. i think if you are empathetic and diplomatic that shines through and makes you a beautiful person. but also, we judge beauty by society's standards as well. if you are thin and dress well or what have you, then that is considered beautiful.

When beauty is abstracted then ugliness has been implied;
When good is abstracted then evil has been implied.

So alive and dead are abstracted from nature,
Difficult and easy abstracted from progress,
Long and short abstracted from contrast,
High and low abstracted from depth,
Song and speech abstracted from melody,
After and before abstracted from sequence.

A wise person experiences without abstraction,
And accomplishes without action;
And accepts the ebb and flow of things,
Nurtures them, but does not own them,
And lives, but does not dwell.

It comes in many varieties and forms. But it always pleases and makes you feel awe and wonder at its perfection, for whatever is it.
