Wily it was not Favre's fault they lost Super Bowl XXXII.The defense gave up a last minute drive. And the lost 31-24,thats 1 touchdown do the math. How many quarterbacks do you think have ever won a super bowl? Not many. And if you say he would have gotten pulled anywhere else you aren't older then 7 because you must have never watched a game of him when he was in his prime. He was THE BEST.My father who absolutley hates the Packers(he is a Bears fan)said that he was better then Montana,Young,Unitas, and everyone else he had ever seen. But if I had to rank everyone ever I would say this:
1.Montana
2.Favre(will be #1 if he wins another)
3.Marino(would be #1 if he won a super bowl)
4.Unitas
5.Elway

Some morons will put Favre in the top 5.
No order Not counting many pre-modern era guys except Sid Luckman and Sammy Baugh who changed the QB from a running back who occasionally threw to a passer.
Sammy Baugh
Sid Luckman
Otto Graham
Y.A. Title
Norm Van Brocklin
Bob Waterfield
Johnny Unitas
Bart Starr
There is 8 before we get to guys post merger. Who does a dweeb knock off to put Farve in there?
I could not see Favre higher than, say, 15th.
Montana, Young, Aikman, Bradshaw, Griese, Stabler, Staubach, Moon, Marino, Kelly, Favre, Brady, Manning, Warner (yes, he was good), Cunningham, Plunkett (1 Super Bowl might be an accident, but to accidentally have two...?),Tarkenton, Dawson, Fouts, Layne, and I'm sure I missed some. Any list with those QBs is defendable even if Bret Farve is not in the top 5.
I put Favre in the top group but not at the top.

Otto Graham 13 Warren Moon 14. Bob Griese 15. Joe Namath 16. Norm Van Brocklin 17. Steve Young 18. Peyton Manning 19. Dan Fouts 20. Tom Brady 21. Len Dawson 22. Jim Kelly 23. Troy Aikman 24. Bobby Layne 25. Bret Farve
I rate Manning over Brady because Brady has always been on a team with a real defense which helps win the Super Bowl. With Farve his INT's cause me to place him where I did. The rest are HOF QB's with total careers.

1. Joe Montana-this guy has to be here due to being a three time Super Bowl MVP and a four time Super Bowl winner. He has great stats, great plays, and great drives. This guy is a legend and will remain here.
2. Dan Marino-this guy has nearly all the passing records. Only problem is no Super Bowl ring to show for it all. He is by far the best statistical QB of all time.
3. Jon Elway-dominant in play, won Super Bowls, and contended every play
4. Terry Bradshaw-another guy with four rings.
5. Steve Young/Troy Aikman- Steve Young got a ring and dominated by being a threat on the ground and through the air. Best QB rating record holder, and that is a great feat. Troy Aikman has a Super Bowl behind him and is a great passer.
I don't rank Brett Favre up here because he has one ring. Yes he won a Super Bowl, but this is for best QB's of all time. He nearly has the interception record, and that is not a feat for a great QB. He is a great football player, he gives his heart out and takes hits like no other. But he should not be listed in greatest of all time. He has played a long time in this league and like the guy above said. Anywhere else with his passing style, he would be booted.
As far as future QB's, Peyton Manning is above Tom Brady now that he won a Super Bowl. Manning is the definition of a QB, he is smart, accurate, has great arm strength and speed. Brady has a three rings which is nice, but Manning is arguably the better QB.

One of those two #5's has to be in there, and I think it will be determined by how many more SuperBowls Peyton wins. Give Manning two, possibly even only one, more and he HAS to be number 1. People gotta stop living in the past, players today CAN be in the list of the best ever, cuz those two are.
Favre is 4, he is the tough man, has a SuperBowl and is closing on Marino's records. Hes definately one of the best ever.
