Though correct in intention 2.7 hours is not the correct answer. There is no teacher that will accept decimal time telling as an answer. Convert it to hours and minutes.
(for convenience you can redo the math using minutes instead of hours OR calculate what 70% of 60 minutes is.)

Mr Reed's Distants = Mr

Mrs Reed's Distants = Mrs

time = t

Mr = 45(t + 3)

Mrs = 95t

We want Mr to equal Mrs so

Mr = Mrs

45(t+3) = 95t

45t + 135 = 95t

135 = 50t

t = 135/50

t = 27/10

t = 2.7 hours
