i cant answer all of those but the best example of a city that started from other sources other than England is New Orleans....it was a huge melting pot of Irish, German and French heritages and was allowed to grow without English rule until France sold it us in the Louisiana Purchase...

England is interior the Europe continent, so there is not any way around that. i think of the british are proud to be a u . s . a . no longer tied to the different u . s . a . (seem as an occasion on their preserving their forex and not starting to be a member of the Euro), so i think of that is rather not a real subject, only one thing the folk of england choose.
